Evolving TecKnologies and Enterprise Development Limited hosted its first stakeholder engagement with the residents of the fence-line community of the impending Phoenix Park Industrial Estate in the form of a Focus Group meeting, at the Phoenix Park Government School on Thursday 31st January, 2019 from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. This is one of many meetings planned with stakeholders of the Park as part of securing a Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) through the Environmental Management Authority (EMA).
At the meeting, details of the Phoenix Park Industrial Estate were presented by an expert panel led by Vice-President, Projects and Facilities, e TecK, Mr. Daniel Duncan and included Mr. Steve De Las, President, e TecK; Mr. Wang Tao, Acting General Manager, Beijing Engineering Construction Group (BCEG) Limited; Mr. Ian Fletcher, Vice President, Real Estate Assets and Mr. Kit Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer, WSP Caribbean Limited. Information on the location and description of the park as well as the potential environmental impact on the community and the proposed mitigation plans were addressed. In addition, potential employment and business opportunities were discussed. The seventy-five plus attendees were engaged and interested in the project and open to discussing their concerns as a number of questions were fielded by members of the panel. e TecK will be hosting a Public Consultation which includes other stakeholders in mid-February, 2019.
