Great news is coming out of e TecK’s Phoenix Park Industrial Estate, Friday 1st December, 2023 marked the occasion whereby e TecK’s first tenant Summit (TT) Luggage, successfully shipped its first container-load of products made at the PPIE!

Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and member of e TecK’s Board of Directors, brought official greetings on the occasion on behalf of Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry.

PS Karim described the event as a wonderful achievement that the Ministry of Trade and Industry was pleased to support. He pointed out that the occasion represented several firsts since Trinidad and Tobago became first Caribbean country to sign on to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2018.

e TecK’s Phoenix Park Industrial Estate, which will be commissioned in January 2024, will be the first Belt and Road Initiative flagship project in the Caribbean to be completed; and Summit Luggage is the first exporter from the Phoenix Park Industrial Estate. Additionally, he noted that this is the first time luggage, manufactured in Trinidad and Tobago, will be exported to Canada.

e TecK extends a hearty congratulations to Summit (TT) on this milestone achievement, and looks forward to their continued export success.
