Trinidad and Tobago Woodworking Specialists

Company History

Located at e TecK’s Macoya Business Park, Trinidad and Tobago Woodworking Specialists was born of an idea from Mr. Harry Jodhan and Mr. Patrick Allen. These two gentlemen saw the need to have a standardized supply of caskets made for their respective funeral homes. From inception the styles and quality were an artisan’s dream and big hit among the industry. Not too long after they decided to include other groups of individual Funeral Directors who were interested in investing in an even larger manufacturing plant. It was thought that a more efficient method of supply could be achieved through a common manufacturing facility, providing synergies and cost efficiencies to the industry through economies of scale, more efficient utilization of capital and equipment and standardization of units. As years have matriculated a new generation of managers are trying to excel at carrying this storied company forward.

With each generation of the TTWS family dutifully serving the company in their own respect, our customers can rest assured that we are hard at work bringing funeral directors and their client families solutions that are right for today’s business environment. TTWS is sparing no effort to preserve its independence. Accordingly, the company relies on its own leverage to achieve growth, both as regards investing for the future and in its production resources. We have become the largest manufacturer of hardwood caskets and one of the most important distributors of funeral products in Trinidad and Tobago and the lesser Antilles. Whether families opt for burial or cremation as a means of final disposition, wood products manufactured at TTWS offer a “neutral disposition” option, meaning they are designed for both burial and cremation.

Tradition

The history of TTWS, founded in 1977 by Mr. Harry Jodhan and Mr. Patrick Allen is part of the great manufacturing success stories. It is the legacy born out of the experience and ingenuity of countless hours that safeguards and breathes life into the manufactured. It is a tradition of innovation that rein-vents itself every day. True to noble artisanal techniques, the wood craftsmen consummately perpetuate, day after day, lending their insight, sharp eyes to the fine art of casket making while remaining abreast of the latest designs and developments.
